The following information is common knowledge among sages and their students. Though your characters are not sages, they have likely (unless I say otherwise) been raised in an archeological camp (see History) and have had easy (and often forced) access to some basic knowledge. If your character is from this camp, you may make a “Knowledge (History or Religion, as appropriate)” skill check on the information given here. Characters who actually have these skills need not make checks on this information, but may need to make checks, as needed, on more detailed knowledge.

Keep in mind that this will not be common knowledge among all people. You will find that, just as in real life, different people have different levels of historical knowledge. Think of it like this, how many people in the U.S. have any significant knowledge of the French revolution? How many people know where Persia was or what it's ultimate fate was? “That's where Sinbad was from, right? I thought it was just a story.”

And remember, there are always those who resent the truth.
